Sumida Aquarium Terms of Use
Article 1 (Application)
These "Sumida Aquarium Terms of Use" (hereinafter referred to as "these Terms") apply to all customers entering Sumida Aquarium (hereinafter referred to as "the Aquarium"), which is operated by ORIX Real Estate Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "the Company"). Any matters not specified in these Terms shall be governed by law and generally accepted practice.
Article 2 (Tickets)
- 1. A ticket is required for admission.
- 2. When purchasing tickets, the "Sumida Aquarium Electronic Ticket Terms of Use" and "Sumida Aquarium Ticket Sales Terms and Conditions" separately established by our company will apply.
- 3. Tickets, discount coupons, etc. that have expired cannot be used.
Article 3 (Prohibited matters)
The following actions are prohibited upon entry to the Aquarium. Any violation of this provision will be determined by our company or the Aquarium's employees (hereinafter referred to as "Staff").

- (1) Unauthorized use of tickets and annual passes
- (2) Use of firearms or explosives
- (3) Smoking (including e-cigarettes)
- (4) Excessive drinking
- (5) Moving equipment or goods without our permission
- (6) Damage to equipment or merchandise
- (7) Any nuisance, violence, threats, intimidation, extortion, coercion, or intimidation of other customers or staff, or any demand for money or goods, or any act that could lead to any of these.
- (8) Entering restricted areas
- (9) Restricting staff, talking for long periods of time, continuous and persistent inquiries, refusing to leave, staying in the facility, making repeated requests or inquiries, or any other actions that interfere with the work of staff.
- (10) Demanding that the Company or its staff provide services that are socially inappropriate, demanding an apology (such as kneeling), or demanding that the staff be punished.
- (11) Securing or occupying seats or exhibition areas by placing luggage or other items.
- (12) Climbing or hanging from decorations, fences, etc.
- (13) Running around the aquarium
- (14) Neglecting to provide supervision over a companion
- (15) Entering the facility on skateboards, rollerblades, roller skates, kick scooters, bicycles, or any other means of transportation that the Company deems inappropriate.
- (16) Political organizations, anti-social groups, religious activities, or activities of a similar nature
- (17) Use of power sources not approved by our company
- (18) Vocal exercises, performances, and use of audio equipment
- (19) Talking loudly on mobile phones and smartphones
- (20) Use of walkie-talkies or loudspeakers, distribution of leaflets, etc.
- (21) Selling or advertising any goods without the permission of our company
- (22) Gifts and presents for staff
- (23) Posting false information on the Internet, such as through social networking services
- (24) Failure to follow instructions from the Company or its staff
- (25) Any act that violates or is likely to violate laws, regulations, or public order and morals.
- (26) Bringing the following items into the building:
- Dogs, cats, small birds, insects, other pets, livestock, etc. (Guide dogs, service dogs, etc. are excluded.)
- Guns, swords, drugs, and other harmful substances prohibited by law
- Anything that may catch fire (excluding lighters and matches used as smoking aids).
- Large luggage, trolleys, and child carriers other than strollers (outdoor carts, etc.)
- Items that emit excessive noise or unpleasant odors (including excessive perfume or cologne, etc.)
- Items that may affect the animals kept in captivity (balloons, laser pointers, soap bubbles, etc.)
- weapon
- Any other items that may cause inconvenience to other customers
- (27) Any act that is deemed to be "customer harassment" in laws, regulations, manuals, guidelines, etc. established by government or industry associations, or any act similar thereto.
- (28) Any other conduct that the Company or its staff deems inappropriate.
<Animal breeding and exhibits>
- (1) Feeding captive animals without permission from our company
- (2) Hitting, damaging, destroying, or tampering with the animals or exhibit tanks
- (3) Touching or handling any of the animals kept in captivity without prior consent from the Company or its staff.
- (4) Using hand signals, gestures, whistles, flags, etc. to captive animals.
- (5) Inserting hands or objects into the water surface or inside the exhibition tanks or pools.
- (6) Asking questions or making comments to the Company or its staff regarding the captive animals that the Company deems inappropriate
<Filming and distribution>
- (1) Live streaming or broadcasting without permission from our company
- (2) Filming or recording for commercial purposes without our permission
- (3) Shooting using auxiliary equipment such as monopods, tripods, and selfie sticks, or drones or radio-controlled equipment
- (4) Taking photographs in places where photography is prohibited and taking photographs using flash in places where the use of flash is prohibited
Article 4 (Admission Restrictions)
Our company or staff may refuse admission to the aquarium or ask you to leave in the following cases. Please note that our company or staff will determine whether a violation of this article has occurred based on reasonable grounds. In the event that our company or staff take action based on this article, no refunds will be given for tickets already purchased.
- (1) When there is any prohibited act set forth in the preceding article or any act that violates these Terms and Conditions.
- (2) When a guest engages in violence, threats, intimidation, extortion, coercion, or intimidation, or demands money or goods, or intimidates the Aquarium or its staff, or when a guest demands a burden that exceeds commercially reasonable limits, or when a guest is deemed to have engaged in similar behavior in the past at another facility.
- (3) When the aquarium determines that the animal is infected with or at risk of contracting an infectious disease.
- (4) Organized crime groups as defined in Article 2 of the "Act on Prevention of Unjust Activities by Organized Crime Group Members," designated organized crime groups, designated organized crime group alliances, and other organizations that may encourage collective or habitual illegal activities, as well as those who belong to such organizations and those who have transactions or relationships with such persons.
- (5) Organizations that have received disciplinary action under the Law Concerning the Regulation of Organizations that Have Committed Indiscriminate Mass Murder, and individuals who belong to such organizations, as well as individuals who have transactions or relationships with such individuals.
- (6) Organizations similar to those in (4) and (5), and persons belonging to such organizations, as well as persons who have transactions or relationships with such persons.
- (7) A person who has concealed or is suspected of concealing or receiving criminal proceeds as defined in the Act on Punishment of Organized Crimes and Control of Crime Proceeds, or a person who has dealings with such a person.
- (8) A person who has committed a crime related to "criminal proceeds" as defined in the "Act on Prevention of Transfer of Criminal Proceeds."
- (9) A corporation that has a person who falls under any of items (4) through (8) as an officer, employee, parent company, or other related company.
- (10) When the Aquarium determines that the Member does not comply with these Terms and Conditions or that there is a risk of such non-compliance.
- (11) Any other actions for which the Company determines that admission is restricted.
Article 5 (Disclaimer)
We shall not be liable for any damages in the following cases:
- (1) Accidents caused by earthquakes, fires, typhoons, and other natural disasters
- (2) Accidents caused by customer negligence
- (3) Theft or loss of customer's belongings, baggage, strollers, etc.
- (4) Fights, troubles, and accidents between customers
- (5) Accidents caused by failure to comply with the warnings, requests, or instructions of our company or staff (including signs within the facility).
- (6) Problems arising from the disclosure of images, videos or audio taken or recorded by the customer
- (7) Facility operations and event content and times may be changed or canceled due to facility inspections, the health of captive animals, weather conditions, etc.
Article 6 (Sales)
In the following cases, we may change business hours, close the museum, change or suspend exhibitions, or change event content without prior notice.
- (1) When equipment inspection, repair, or construction work occurs
- (2) Poor health and safety of captive animals
- (3) Earthquakes, fires, typhoons, worsening weather, natural disasters, and accidents
- (4) Requests from the government, judiciary, industry associations, etc.
- (5) Epidemic of infectious diseases
- (6) Any other reason at the discretion of the Aquarium.
Article 7 (Compensation for damages, legal measures)
In the following cases, we will claim compensation from the customer for damages (including, but not limited to, actual expenses such as repair, cleaning, and refilling costs, as well as compensation for mental distress and defamation). We may also take strict action, such as filing a lawsuit for damages or taking other legal action.
- (1) If the Company, the Aquarium, or the creatures or equipment kept at the Aquarium are damaged, destroyed, soiled, or lost.
- (2) If you cause damage to the staff of the Aquarium or a third party such as another customer.
- (3) Any other violation of these Terms and Conditions
- (4) If the User causes costs or damages to the Company.
Article 8 (Handling of Personal Information)
The personal information of customers that we obtain will be used for ticket sales, annual pass issuance, management, email distribution, and various information dissemination, as well as for the purposes described in our privacy policy ( https://www.orix-realestate.co.jp/privacy.html ).
Article 9 (Changes)
If we deem it necessary, we may change these Terms at any time by notifying customers at least two weeks in advance of the change, the content of the change, and the date when the change will take effect (hereinafter referred to as the "Effective Date, etc."). If these Terms are changed, the effective date, etc. will be posted on the Aquarium's official website ( https://www.sumida-aquarium.com/ ).
Supplementary Provisions Article 1 (Effective Date)
These Terms and Conditions shall come into effect on October 1, 2024.
Sumida Aquarium
Electronic Ticket Terms of Use
The Sumida Aquarium Electronic Ticket Terms of Use (hereinafter referred to as "these Terms") set out the terms and conditions that customers must agree to when using the "Sumida Aquarium Electronic Ticket" ticket sales service operated by ORIX Real Estate Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "our company"). Customers must use this service in accordance with these Terms.
Article 1 (Definition)
The meanings of terms used in these Terms and Conditions shall be as set forth below, unless otherwise defined.
- ① "This Service" refers to the online service through which customers can purchase various tickets for the facility through the ticket sales service "Sumida Aquarium Electronic Tickets" operated by our company.
- ② “Member” refers to a customer who registers as a Sumida Aquarium electronic ticket member in the manner specified by our company and uses this service.
- ③"Facility" refers to Sumida Aquarium (Address: 5th and 6th floors, Tokyo Skytree Town Solamachi, 1-1-2 Oshiage, Sumida-ku, Tokyo).
- ④"Registration Information" refers to all information, including personal information such as name, date of birth, gender, address, and purchase history, that a Member provides to us when registering as a Member or purchasing tickets.
- ⑤ "Sales page" refers to the facility's official website (Sumida Aquarium: https://www.sumida-aquarium.com/ ).
- ⑥ “These Terms, etc.” refers to these Terms and Conditions and individual provisions.
- ⑦ "Individual Provisions" means provisions, rules, etc. that apply to the Service other than these Terms and Conditions and that are posted by our company on the sales page or "Sumida Aquarium Electronic Ticket" or presented to members by other means.
- ⑧ “Rights Holder” means JTB Corporation, the platform provider of this Service, and Good Fellows Co., Ltd., its service management company.
Article 2 (Scope and changes to the Terms and Conditions)
- 1. These Terms, etc. shall apply to the Company and Members with respect to the use of the Service, and the Company and Members shall faithfully comply with these Terms, etc. In the event of any discrepancy between these Terms and any individual provisions, the individual provisions shall take precedence over these Terms, in that order.
- 2. Our company may change these Terms and Conditions, etc. at its own discretion without the consent of the Member in the following cases. In such cases, the terms of use of the Service provided by our company shall be based on the changed Terms and Conditions, etc. In addition, when changing these Terms and Conditions, etc., we will notify you on the facility's sales page at least two weeks in advance that we are changing these Terms and Conditions, etc., the details of the changes, and the date when the changes will take effect, and the details of the changes will take effect from the date notified.
① When the change to these Terms and Conditions, etc. is in the general interest of members. ② When the change to these Terms and Conditions, etc. does not contradict the purpose of providing the Service and is reasonable in light of the necessity of the change, the appropriateness of the content after the change, the content of the change, and other circumstances related to the change. - 3. The Company shall not be liable for any disadvantage or damage suffered by a Member as a result of any changes to these Terms and Conditions, etc., based on the preceding paragraph.
Article 3 (Agreement to these Terms)
- 1. If a member uses this service, the member will be deemed to have agreed to these Terms and Conditions, etc.
- 2. If a Member is a minor, an adult ward, a person under curatorship, or a person under assistance, he/she must use the Service with the consent of his/her respective legal representative, guardian, curator, or assistant (hereinafter referred to as "Legal Representative, etc.").
- 3. If a member as set forth in the preceding paragraph falsely claims to have consent from a legal representative or other person when he/she does not have such consent, or falsely claims to be an adult when he/she is a minor, or if he/she uses fraud (including not telling the truth) to make others believe that he/she has the capacity to act, any legal acts performed by that member in relation to the Service cannot be revoked.
- 4. If a member who was a minor at the time of agreeing to these Terms and Conditions, etc., uses the Service after reaching adulthood, or if a member with limited legal capacity uses the Service after regaining legal capacity, the member will be deemed to have ratified all legal acts related to the Service.
Article 4 (Membership Registration and Restrictions)
- 1. When you specify your email address and password on the registration screen, provide your registration information, and complete your membership registration for Sumida Aquarium Electronic Ticket, an agreement containing these Terms and Conditions will be established between you and our company.
- 2. Registration information is not deleted for a limited period of time. If you wish to delete your information, you must cancel your membership from your "My Page."
- 3. If the Company determines that the applicant for membership registration has any of the following reasons, the Company may not approve the application for membership registration or may disable the registered member's account, and the Company shall not be obligated to disclose the reasons therefor.
① If false information is submitted when applying for membership registration. ② If the application is from a person who has previously violated these Terms and Conditions. ③ If the member is a member of an organized crime group, or has a connection to an organized crime group (including those who have been a member of such a group for the past five years), or is otherwise a member of an anti-social force. ④ If the Company otherwise determines that membership registration is inappropriate.
Article 5 (Prohibited matters)
- 1. When using the Service, Members shall not engage in any of the following acts (hereinafter collectively referred to as "Fraudulent Acts Related to These Terms and Conditions").
① Actions that infringe or may infringe the copyright, property rights, reputation, privacy, know-how or other rights of our company or a third party (including other customers, rights holders, facilities and facility employees, etc.; the same applies hereinafter). ② Actions other than those listed in the previous item that cause or may cause disadvantage or damage to our company or a third party. ③ Actions that are contrary to public order and morals or actions that may be contrary to public order and morals. ④ Actions that violate laws and regulations or actions related to criminal activities. ⑤ Actions related to political activities, religious activities, or sex-related businesses. ⑥ Actions for profit-making purposes or actions for the purpose of preparing for such purposes that are carried out through or in connection with this service without our written consent (including electromagnetic means). ⑦ Actions that involve the unauthorized use of the email address or password specified when registering as a member, or registration information, such as disclosing, lending, or transferring it to a third party. ⑧ Actions that place an excessive burden on the equipment related to this service, actions that disable this service, or other actions that interfere with the provision of this service or its operation, or actions that may be contrary to any of the above. ⑨ ⑩ Any act of using or providing harmful programs such as computer viruses through or in connection with the Service. ⑩ Any act of altering or tampering with the Service or other systems provided by our company, or any act of reverse engineering such as decompiling or disassembling, or any other act of analysis. ⑪ Any act that violates or may violate these Terms and Conditions. ⑫ Any act of directly or indirectly providing benefits to anti-social forces in connection with our services (including those other than the Service). ⑬ Any other act that our company deems inappropriate. - 2. If any fraudulent activity related to these Terms and Conditions is discovered in the use of this Service, we may, at our discretion, invalidate all purchased items and the member's account by that member, and we shall not be liable for any disadvantages or damages resulting therefrom.
Article 6 (Copyright)
- 1. Members may not, in any way, reproduce, sell, publish, or use for any other purposes beyond the scope of personal use as defined in Article 30 of the Copyright Act, any intellectual property rights, ideas, know-how, etc. of any information or files provided through the Service without the consent of the rights holder and our company.
- 2. Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding paragraph, if any problem arises between a Member and a Rights Holder, the Member shall resolve the problem at his/her own responsibility and expense and shall not cause any inconvenience or damage to the Company.
Article 7 (Interruption or Suspension of the Service)
- 1. If any of the following events occur, the Company may, at its sole discretion, temporarily suspend or terminate all or part of the Service without prior notice to Members.
① When regular or emergency maintenance, inspection, or updates are performed on equipment or systems installed or managed by our company in connection with this service.
② When it is difficult to provide the Service due to force majeure such as fire, power outage, or natural disaster.
③ When the services of a telecommunications carrier are not provided.
④ In addition, if the Company determines that it is necessary to temporarily suspend or stop the Service for operational or technical reasons, or if the Company determines that it is difficult to provide the Service due to unforeseen circumstances. - 2. Even if the circumstances do not fall under any of the items in the preceding paragraph, the Company may discontinue all or part of the Service if it notifies the Member of its intention to discontinue all or part of the Service at least 20 days in advance.
- 3. The Company shall not be liable for any disadvantage or damage suffered by a Member or a third party as a result of the temporary suspension, discontinuation, or termination of the provision of the Service under the preceding two paragraphs, except in cases where such disadvantage or damage is due to reasons attributable to the Company.
Article 8 (Handling of links to the Service by third parties)
- 1. If a third party links to the Service, the Company shall not be held responsible for the third party's website, nor shall the Company be held responsible for any content, advertisements, products, services, etc. included in or available on the third party's website.
- 2. The Company shall not be liable for any damages arising from or in connection with the content, advertisements, products, services, etc. set forth in the preceding paragraph.
Article 9 (Liability for compensation)
- 1. The Company shall not be liable for any damages suffered by a Member or a third party arising from the provision, delay, change, interruption, suspension, or abolition of the Service, the leakage or loss of information provided, or other damages incurred in connection with the Service, except in cases where such damages are attributable to the Company.
- 2. If a member causes damage to a third party through fraudulent conduct in connection with these Terms and Conditions, the member shall resolve the matter at his/her own responsibility and expense and shall not cause any damage to the Company.
- 3. If a member causes damage to the Company through an act in violation of these Terms and Conditions, etc., or through fraudulent or illegal conduct, the Company may claim damages (including attorney's fees, personnel costs and lost profits required to resolve the dispute) from the member in question.
Article 10 (Handling of Personal Information)
The management and handling of member information (including registration information) that the Company may learn in connection with the Member's use of the Service shall be in accordance with the "Privacy Policy" separately established by the Company ( https://www.orix-realestate.co.jp/privacy.html ), and Members agree that the Company will handle their information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Article 11 (Disclaimer of Warranties and Exemption from Liability)
- 1. While the Company will make every effort to ensure the accuracy of the content of the Service, the Company makes no express or implied guarantee that the Service is free from factual or legal defects (including defects relating to safety, reliability, accuracy, completeness, validity, fitness for a particular purpose, security, etc., errors and bugs, infringement of rights, etc.).
- 2. The Company shall not be liable for any delay, change, suspension or abolition of the provision of the Service, any error in ticket issuance or delivery, or any other damage suffered by a Member in connection with the Service, if such damage is not attributable to the Company. However, if the agreement between the Company and a Member regarding the Service constitutes a consumer contract as defined in the Consumer Contract Act, this disclaimer shall not apply to the extent that it conflicts with said Act.
- 3. Even in the case set forth in the proviso to the preceding paragraph, the Company shall not be liable for any damage incurred by the Customer due to breach of contract or tort caused by the Company's negligence (excluding gross negligence), which damage arises from special circumstances (including cases where the Company or the Customer should have foreseen the occurrence of the damage).
- 4. In the event that damages incurred by a member are due to reasons attributable to our company, our liability for compensation shall be limited to the purchase price of the relevant ticket. However, in the event that such liability is due to willful misconduct or gross negligence on the part of our company, such limit shall not apply.
Article 12 (Withdrawal)
Members may cancel their membership of this service by following the cancellation procedures set forth by our company.
Article 13 (Cooling-off period)
The cooling-off period does not apply to tickets purchased through this service.
Article 14 (Notification)
- 1. In principle, any contact or notification by our company to a member will be made by sending an email to the email address that the member registered when registering as a member (hereinafter referred to as the "member email address").
- 2. When the Company sends an email to a member's email address for the purpose of contacting or notifying the member, the email will be deemed to have reached the member at the time of sending, and the member will be deemed to have received the contact or notification from the Company.
Article 15 (Severability)
Even if any provision or part of any provision of these Terms, etc. is determined to be invalid or unenforceable under the Consumer Contract Act or other laws and regulations, the rest of these Terms, etc. other than the provision determined to be invalid or unenforceable shall remain in full force and effect.
Article 16 (Language)
The official text of these Terms and Conditions shall be in Japanese.
Even if these Terms and Conditions are translated into English or other languages for reference, only the original Japanese text shall be valid as a contract, and any translations of the terms and conditions in languages other than Japanese shall have no effect whatsoever.
Article 17 (Governing Law)
The establishment, validity, performance and interpretation of these Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of Japan.
Article 18 (Agreed jurisdiction)
In the event of a dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms and Conditions, the Tokyo District Court shall be the court of first instance with exclusive jurisdiction.
Supplementary Provisions Article 1 (Effective Date)
These Terms and Conditions will come into effect on March 8, 2022.
Article 2 (Revision Date)
These Terms and Conditions will be revised from January 20, 2023.
These terms and conditions will be revised from August 1, 2023.
Sumida Aquarium
Ticket Sales Terms and Conditions
These Ticket Sales Terms and Conditions stipulate the conditions for the purchase and use of tickets (hereinafter referred to as "Tickets") sold through this service between ORIX Real Estate Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "our company") and individuals who have registered as members (hereinafter referred to as "Members") of the ticket sales service "Sumida Aquarium Electronic Tickets" operated by our company.
Unless otherwise defined in these ticket sales terms and conditions, the meaning of terms shall be in accordance with the Sumida Aquarium Electronic Ticket Terms of Use established by our company.
Article 1 (Refusal to sell)
We will refuse to sell tickets in the following cases:
- (1) If a false declaration is made regarding matters specified by our company, or if a required declaration is not made.
- (2) If you engage in any conduct that causes inconvenience to us or third parties (including other customers, facilities and their employees, etc.; the same applies hereinafter), or that interferes with our smooth sales.
- (3) If you do not complete the required procedures within the deadline provided by our company.
- (4) If you fail to follow the purchasing method specified by our company.
Article 2 (Decision on sales method)
- 1. Tickets sold by our company through this service will be sold as electronic tickets displayed as a "QR code" (*QR code is a registered trademark of DENSO WAVE INCORPORATED) via email sent to members by our company or on their personal page on this service in accordance with Article 4. Unless otherwise specified by our company, no physical physical tickets such as paper copies will be issued for tickets purchased by our company through this service.
- 2. We may impose restrictions on the number of tickets that can be purchased or the method of purchase. Furthermore, for tickets with a set number of tickets for sale or a set sales period, we may terminate ticket sales when the planned number of tickets for sale has been reached or the sales period has expired. We shall not be held responsible in any way for the sudden termination of ticket sales.
- 3. When purchasing certain tickets, members may be required to enter additional information, such as name, date of birth, gender, address, purchase history, etc. Members agree in advance that such information will be included in the registration information and that our company will use it in accordance with the Sumida Aquarium Electronic Ticket Terms of Use.
Article 3 (Regarding duplicate purchases of the same ticket)
If the same ticket is purchased multiple times using this service due to a member's input error or a problem with the communication environment, etc., the Company shall not be held responsible unless the cause is attributable to the Company.
In such cases, we will not be able to refund the payment.
Article 4 (Email transmission)
- 1. After the ticket purchase procedure is completed, we will send an email to the member's email address to notify them of the completion of the purchase. However, there may be cases where we are unable to send or reply to the email due to the member entering a false email address, incorrect entry or omission, or due to illegible characters.
- 2. We shall not be liable for any failure to complete the purchase procedure due to communication errors or improper operation when purchasing tickets, or for any resulting non-delivery, mis-delivery, or delayed delivery of emails, except in cases where such failure is due to reasons attributable to our company.
Article 5 (Ticket price and payment method)
When a Member purchases a ticket through this Service, in addition to the ticket price, separate service fees may be required, such as fees related to payment, fees related to ticket delivery, system usage fees, etc.
Article 6 (Prohibition of Resale)
- 1. Tickets purchased through this service may not be resold for profit or entrusted to a third party for resale. Furthermore, listing tickets at auctions (including online auctions) is also prohibited.
- 2. If you violate the preceding paragraph, the facility may, at its sole discretion, invalidate your purchased ticket, not refund your ticket, and deny you entry. If you have already entered, you may be asked to leave.
- 3. The facility and our company will not be held responsible for any problems related to tickets purchased from ticket shops, purchasing agents, scalpers, auctions, internet auctions, etc. other than those provided by this service.
Article 7 (Cancellation after purchase)
Tickets purchased through this service cannot be cancelled unless the facility is unable to provide the services specified in the ticket due to its own circumstances. Please note that tickets such as annual passes that allow unlimited entry to the facility during the validity period cannot be cancelled for any reason.
Article 8 (Credit card payment)
- 1. For members who choose to pay by credit card, we will carry out the credit card authorization procedure. The ticket sales contract will be concluded once the credit card authorization procedure has been completed. Please note that if payment cannot be made with the member's credit card for any reason, such as false input, incorrect input or omission during the ticket purchase procedure, or failure to comply with the terms and conditions of each credit card company, we will not be able to sell the ticket.
- 2. If fraudulent use of a credit card is discovered that results in cancellation, termination, or repurchase (chargeback) by the credit card company, after identifying the user information involved in the fraudulent use, our company may, at its discretion, cancel the sales contract for all goods or services sold on this service, including tickets purchased using that user information, and may also disable the account linked to that user information in order to prevent the damage caused by the fraudulent use from spreading.
Article 9 (Application of Terms)
For matters not specified in these ticket sales terms and conditions, the Sumida Aquarium Electronic Ticket Terms of Use shall apply.
Supplementary Provisions Article 1 (Effective Date)
These Terms and Conditions will come into effect on March 8, 2022.
Article 2 (Revision Date)
These Terms and Conditions will be revised from January 20, 2023.

Annual Pass Terms of Use
Article 1 (Application of Terms)
These terms and conditions apply to customers who purchase and use an annual passport (hereinafter referred to as "Annual Passport") for Sumida Aquarium (hereinafter referred to as "the Aquarium") operated by ORIX Real Estate Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "the Company"). Any matters not specified in these terms and conditions shall be governed by laws, regulations, or generally established customs.
Article 2 (Annual Passport)
Annual pass holders can enter the aquarium during opening hours. However, you will not be able to enter on days when the aquarium has designated blackout dates or days when the aquarium is closed.
Article 3 (Validity Period)
- 1. The validity period of the Annual Pass (hereinafter referred to as the "Validity Period") is one year, from the date of purchase until the day before the same date the following year. However, customers who purchase using Sumida Aquarium electronic tickets can use the pass for one year from the date of their first admission.
- 2. Notwithstanding the preceding paragraph, if the last day of the validity period falls on a blackout date or a closed day designated by the Aquarium, the last business day immediately preceding that date will be the last day of the validity period.
- 3. The validity period will not be changed or extended regardless of the reason (closure, changes or cancellations of exhibits, show programs, annual pass benefits, or any other matters related to the Aquarium, etc.), unless otherwise approved by the Aquarium.
Article 4 (Target Persons)
The annual pass is only valid for use by the person who registered it. It cannot be used by anyone other than the person who registered it. If we are unable to identify you at the time of entry, you will be denied entry.
Article 5 (Fees)
The price range for annual passes is determined by the age at the start date of the validity period. However, for annual passes purchased using Sumida Aquarium electronic tickets, the price will be set based on the age at the time of purchase. The change in school year will take place on April 1st. Please note that paid fees will not be refunded unless the change is due to reasons beyond our control.
Article 6 (Prohibited matters)
- 1. Once an Annual Pass has been purchased, cancellations, refunds, or changes to the registered person will not be accepted regardless of the reason (closure, changes or cancellations to exhibits, show programs, Annual Pass benefits, or any other matters related to the Aquarium, etc.). However, this does not apply if otherwise approved by the Aquarium.
- 2. Annual Passports may not be used by anyone other than the passholder, lent to a third party other than the passholder, transferred, pawned, resold, or duplicated.
- 3. If your Annual Passport is used fraudulently (such as by falsifying the face of the passport, using it by someone other than the passport holder, or applying fraudulently), or if you violate the Sumida Aquarium Terms of Use, you will be asked to return your Annual Passport regardless of the remaining validity period. In this case, no refunds will be given. You may also be unable to purchase future Annual Passports.
Article 7 (Admission)
If the Aquarium determines otherwise, you may be asked to wait before entering, obtain a numbered ticket, or be denied re-entry. In addition, the admission times set by the Aquarium will also apply and will not take precedence over other regulations.
Article 8 (Presentation)
Please present your Annual Pass to the ticket gate staff when entering. If you do not present your Annual Pass, you will be required to pay the regular admission fee.
If you do not present it, you will not be able to receive the benefits of the annual passport.
Article 9 (Theft and loss)
If your Annual Passport is lost, stolen, or damaged, please contact the Aquarium's main telephone number (Sumida Aquarium: TEL 03-5619-1821) or the Annual Passport Issuance Counter.
Article 10 (Update)
Applications for renewal of your Annual Passport can be made one month prior to the expiration date. When you renew, you will be charged the Annual Passport fee (based on your age at the time of renewal). The maximum extension period per renewal is one year from the day after the expiration date (see note).
Article 11 (Issuance fee for card-type annual passports)
When you visit the Aquarium to have a card-type Annual Passport issued (including new issuance, renewal, reissue, and switching from a Sumida Aquarium electronic ticket Annual Passport to a card-type Annual Passport), you will be charged the Aquarium's designated issuance fee.
Article 12 (Changes to registered information)
If there are any changes to the information you provided on your application, please notify the Aquarium's Annual Passport Counter immediately.
If you have purchased an annual pass using Sumida Aquarium's electronic ticket system, please make any changes promptly on your My Page within Sumida Aquarium's electronic ticket system.
Article 13 (Handling of Personal Information)
Our company will use the personal information of customers obtained when using an Annual Passport for the purposes of issuing, managing, and emailing the Annual Passport, sending various information, and for the purposes described in our privacy policy ( https://www.orix-realestate.co.jp/privacy.html ). In addition, matters related to the handling of other personal information will be in accordance with our privacy policy.
Article 14 (Changes)
If the Company deems it necessary, the Company may change these Terms and Conditions and all other matters related to Annual Passports (hereinafter referred to as "Matters Related to Annual Passports") by notifying customers at least two weeks prior to the change that the changes will be made, as well as the details of the changes and the date when the changes will take effect (hereinafter referred to as "Effective Date, etc.") (hereinafter referred to as "This Announcement"). This Announcement will be made by posting the Effective Date, etc. on the Aquarium's official website (link: Sumida Aquarium: https://www.sumida-aquarium.com/ ).
