Sumida Aquarium (Location: Sumida-ku, Tokyo; General Manager: Rui Kawasumi) is pleased to announce that it will be selling special discounted tickets for admission from August 17th (Monday) to September 24th (Thursday), 2026, for a limited time. In addition, the ongoing summer event, "Sumisui Fireworks 2026 ~A Summer Cooling Off with Water and Light~"* will be extended until September 24th (Thursday).
The special tickets being sold this time are limited-time tickets designed for families and friends to enjoy a unique summer experience at Sumida Aquarium from the latter half of summer vacation through Silver Week. From August 17th (Monday) to September 24th (Thursday), tickets will be available for customers entering between noon and 4pm, offering half-price admission for up to 5 children (junior high school age or younger) accompanied by one adult or high school student. Tickets will also be available for customers entering after 5pm, offering discounted admission for the second and subsequent people when two or more adults or two or more high school students are present.
The summer-only event currently underway, "Sumisui Fireworks 2026 ~A Summer of Cooling with Water and Light~," has been extended and can be enjoyed until September 24th (Thursday). In addition, the projection mapping of fireworks themed after aquarium animals, which is usually projected only at night during the event, will be shown during the daytime as well from August 17th (Monday) to September 24th (Thursday).

2. Regarding the extension of the event period and some changes to the content of "Sumisui Fireworks 2026 ~A Summer Cooling Off with Water and Light~"
The summer event "Sumisui Fireworks 2026 ~A Summer of Cooling with Water and Light~," which began on Tuesday, July 14th, 2026, will be extended until Thursday, September 24th. This event will feature two different projection mapping displays on the ceiling of the "penguins Pool," one for daytime and one for nighttime, as well as a corridor lined with 100 "jellyfish Wind Chimes" that adorns the staircase from the 6th to the 5th floor of the building, available for a limited time. In addition, exhibition panels introducing Edo-period summer culture and the charm of goldfish will continue to be on display until Silver Week.
The projection mapping ceiling display, which previously only showed fireworks inspired by aquarium animals at night, will now also be shown during the day for limited periods starting August 17th (Monday).

Regarding the fireworks displays, the projections at 9:40 AM, 12:40 PM, and 3:10 PM will be illuminated with brighter lighting than the projections from 6:10 PM onwards.
Each fireworks display lasts approximately 9 minutes.
The ceiling projection mapping show may be changed or canceled without notice due to equipment maintenance, system malfunctions, or other operational reasons.
