Celebrating its 14th anniversary on Friday, May 22nd, the store will be holding a "14th Anniversary Sticker" giveaway campaign. New collaboration products with denim brand "EDWIN" will also be released.

Sumida Aquarium (Location: Sumida-ku, Tokyo; General Manager: Rui Kawasumi) will celebrate its 14th anniversary on Friday, May 22, 2026. To express our gratitude to everyone, we will be holding a "14th Anniversary Sticker" giveaway campaign from Friday, May 8 to Sunday, May 31, 2026.

During this campaign period, customers who spend 1,400 yen or more (including tax) at the Penguin Café or Museum Shop inside the museum will receive one sticker. Additionally, on the anniversary of the museum's opening, May 22nd (Friday), all visitors will receive a sticker.*1

The stickers being distributed feature the number "14" to commemorate our 14th anniversary, along with illustrations of the animals of the Ogasawara Islands that live at our aquarium. Since our opening in 2012, we have been working in cooperation with Ogasawara Village to exhibit and disseminate information about the animals of Ogasawara . This year marks the 15th anniversary of the Ogasawara ' designation as a World Natural Heritage site, and with the desire to convey its charm once again, we have adopted the animals of Ogasawara for the design. By launching the dedicated app on your smartphone and holding it over the sticker, you can enjoy an illustration that comes to life using AR*2 technology, along with background music featuring the sound of waves on the Ogasawara coast.

Furthermore, the museum shop will be releasing new products in collaboration with the long-established denim brand "EDWIN." We have a selection of items that can be enjoyed at home or on the go, including plush toys designed with our museum's Magellanic penguins, carabiner pouches that can be attached to bags or belt loops with metal fittings, and tote bags.

Sumida Aquarium is celebrating its 14th anniversary, and we are deeply grateful for the support we have received from our customers, the local community, and all those involved.

To commemorate the 14th anniversary of Sumida Aquarium's opening, from May 8th (Fri) to May 31st (Sun), 2026, we will be distributing "14th Anniversary Stickers" featuring designs of animals from the Ogasawara Ogasawara that live at our aquarium, including the "Snail," "Sand Tiger Shark," and "Green Sea Turtle." When you launch the dedicated app on your smartphone and hold it over the sticker, the illustration will move with background music using augmented reality.

On Friday, May 22nd, our anniversary, we will be giving away stickers to all customers who visit us between 10:00 AM and 7:00 PM.

Distribution period: May 8th (Fri) - May 31st (Sun), 2026

Distribution hours: Weekdays / 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM, Weekends / 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM

Distribution locations: Penguin Café on the 5th floor, Museum Shop on the 5th floor

Distribution conditions: One ticket will be given to customers who purchase 1,400 yen or more (tax included) at the Penguin Café or Museum Shop.

Distribution may end once the stickers run out.

On Friday, May 22nd, we will be distributing them to all visitors at the entrance on the 5th floor of the building between 10:00 AM and 7:00 PM.
